Smoked Potato Soup

Post by Smokin Don » Sun Jan 06, 2013 06:01

I love potato soup and got the idea if I smoked some potatoes it might be better. I smoked the potatoes and some onions too on my Traeger pellet Smoker. It all turns out pretty good. This was our supper tonight.

Don, you talk about bone warming goodness! That's a great idea for sure.

How well did the potatoes take the smoke and what flavor of wood did you use?

Charlie, the smoke flavor is slight but there. I used some mixed hardwood blend of pellets. Not sure if the peeled ones or unpeeled ones take on more smoke, only my second try at it. With this I didn't use my Amazen tube and think I had more smoke taste when I did on the first batch. Everyone that has tried it says the best ever. Don
