Homemade Sausage Making

Hi Guys
Looking at remote digital probe types, seems there is a huge problem with keeping probes serviceable with most.
Being the cautious buyer, was wondering just what everyone else is using or any tips on what to buy.
Getting gear ready for smoker conversion from old chest freezer.

My preference is to the long stem dial types. Digital is nice but 17.5 degrees C plus or minus 2 degrees for accuracy is unnecessary. The dial will serve just as well.

Have a stem one from my brewing gear which I was going to use for the cabinet temp, was looking for the probe type that I'd insert into the product for internal temp.

I just note how long the meat has been in the heat and its internal temperature and figure a time line from that and check again in an hour or whatever.

I do a lot of BBQing and I recommend a Maverick ET-73 or ET-732. I have been using the 73's for several years and they are great. It comes with a probe for meat and a probe for cooking chamber.

The 732 is a newer version so its a little pricier. I've had my 73 for 5+ years, its taken a beating and works great. You can get it for around $33 on Amazon.

Thanks for the input, have the Mavericks on the list.
These doesnt seem to have the probe problems that say the Taylor products do.

I seem to have the same problem. I've been using Polder & Taylor. I always use three. surprising to see the difference in the readings even though they start out with the same readings. Joined Chuckwagon and Guys in making project A ,went purchased a hygrometer like the one that was used in the project. It reads about 10% different than my green air controller. Guess it's time to look for another unit for comparison.
