Hall Of Fame - Proven Sausage Recipes

Post by Chuckwagon » Tue Feb 22, 2011 02:58

Here are our... "Winning, Proven, Endorsed, And Recommended" Recipes. (Whew!) Some sausages just speak for themselves. They are either WD's Contest Winners or they have been sponsored by another member. If you would like to sponsor someone`s recipe so it will appear on this list, drop a PM to Chuckwagon indicating that you have tried the recipe exactly as it was written and that you endorse it. This is a handy reference and a quick "go to" list for proven recipes.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill! :D

This is a great idea! Not because I have one on the list, but because MANY of us could use this list for different events, gatherings, or just for some sausage goodness when the mood strikes!

So far I've tried 2 on the list and have on e other on deck for the next couple of weeks. I'd like to see this list grow, a lot!

Hey Cranky,
I'm still working on the list and will make it so you can just click on the link to find the recipe.
Now, what is this baseball cap you are wearing in your pic? Don't you folks all wear Stetsons or Resistols? Shucks pard, I live in Utah... and wouldn't dare wear anything but a Texas RESISTOL!

Best Wishes,
Chuckwagon

Hey Goat! Good to hear from ya.
Have you got any recipes "on fire" for this selected "forum"?
Perhaps a knockout, magical sopressata. What do you think?
Are you going to enter the "contest of the month"?

Best Wishes,
Chuckwagon

Oh crap... I just remembered... My ol' pal Miroslaw Stanusik (The Sausagemaker TM in Buffalo, NY., [previously Rytek Kutas's site] ) and I, worked on Krainerwurst. Shucks, I hope you don't mind if I include it here on this part of the forum. We researched this recipe for quite some time. Perhaps it should be shared on this topic.

Congratulations WDp/e contest winners! Shucks, pards... there are many hours of planning, tasting, and testing in these recipes. Thank you for sharing your recipes. Yup! Now you are officially MEMBERS of the "Winning, Proven & Reliable... Endorsed, Confirmed & Validated... Accredited, Recommended & Guaranteed... Solidly Supported, Superior, and Sanctioned Sausage Recipes" club!

Here are the "Hall Of Fame" winners:
January 2011 "ABT Sausage" (Sausage) CrankyBuzzard Texas
February 2011 (none) ----------
March 2011 "Canadian Country Sausage" (Sausage) Steelchef Ft. St. John, B.C. Canada
April 2011 "JBK`s Indiana Jerky" (Jerky) jbk101 Versailles, Indiana
May 2011 "Big Guy`s Ontario Bacon by Big Guy in Southampton, Ontario
June 2011 "Hickory Hill Hot Italian Sausage" by DaveZak in New York
September 2011 "Bubba`s Borewores" Sausage by Bubba in Aiken, South Carolina
October 2011 "Hungarian Csabaii" Sausage by Snagman in Sydney, Australia

How To Win! (Contest Closed 12/11 - May Be Reinstated In The Future)
Win an autographed copy of one of the sausage making books from Bookmagic.com. Turn in your RECIPE OF THE MONTH! Authors Stan and Adam Marianski and Miroslaw Gebarowski will sign it and address it to you. Find one of those great recipes you`ve got tucked away and post it under Recipe Of The Month Contest in "Announcements" (just below Hyde Park on the home page). Do you remember the rules? They`re easy.

1. Post your recipe (meat products only) and be sure to state that it is to be entered in the contest.
2. Include pictures of the phases of preparation and final product. (If you need help posting pictures, please PM me and I`ll give you a hand. I can also assist you with calculating the right amount of nitrate/nitrite in your product)

That`s it! A special "jury" will choose the lucky winner. If your recipe wins, it will be translated into Polish and posted on the Polish forum also. (The largest sausage forum in the world!) The winner will be announced after the first of the following month. Good Luck!
(Contest Has Been Closed)
Best Wishes,
Chuckwagon
