My younger sister moved to Maryland 2 years ago and was VERY excited to do so; until the first winter...
Stay warm my friend!

This winter has been a pure pleasure for me. Only a few days when the daytime temps stayed below freezing. Almost no snow, lots of sunshine. I have only delayed work for two day because it was not worth going out.

Is that a picture of Santa going out to feed his reindeer?

Naw, just "shoveling" the walk!
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill!

Wow! Now that is snow!
It's 34 degrees here (that's over 90) and I have 7 pork loins to cold smoke, so that's out for today. Looks like a bit of night time smoking for me>
Do you have to wait for the spring to go out?
I guess you have plenty of sausages to keep you going.
Warm wishes Ursula

Here's another little hobby of mine: shiitake mushrooms. These are oak logs from my trees that have been impregnated with shiitake mycelium. Twice a year they are soaked and produce dozens of delicious shiitake mushrooms. Makes a mean stirfry, and healthy to boot!

Chuckwagon, I see you're online. I am just making your leberkaese recipe. It's ready to go into the waterbath. I am also nearly ready to stuff mettwurst. It's been a good day.
Best regards Ursula

Wow kid, you`re more ambitious than I am. I made ten pounds of kabanosy and ten of jerky but wranglin` good leberkaese and mettwurst both take some doin`!
Keep right on making good sausage girl, but be sure to enjoy it. If it gets to be work, put it down half a day while you take in a good baseball game! (Football in Australia eh?).
My best wishes,
Chuckwagon
