Store Bought Ham/Reheating

Post by Kijek » Wed Mar 28, 2018 21:29

I've yet to cure & smoke my own ham, but there in one from the store that we think is rather good.
It's fully cooked and the name is (Cooks Ham) and only needs reheating.

But I would to flavor it up just a bit. Right (Wednesday) I opened it up and scored the fat and skin, then poked whole cloves within the squares, wrapped set in tub and back into refrigerator till Saturday's dinner.

Going to reheat according to directions, only will do it in my WSM 22" with no smoke.
But still before hand, I would like to inject for two days with pineapple juice.

Does this all sound ok to you guys?
Or does anyone have some other injection that will really push the ham in flavor?

I'm confident in my method, but I value the recipes, idea and other techniques from you all.

Pineapple and brown sugar always works good for me on hams.

Seems like a go too combo, I've used brown sugar before, but never the pineapple. Thanks Butters

Not sure how an already cured and cooked Ham will take the injection. You can also try covering with pineapple slices and brown sugar (use toothpicks) and basting with pineapple juice
