Mike,
You are so correct about "never done learning" with this hobby.
I have cured and smoked for the last 40+ years and when I joined this forum I realised that I actually am just a beginner.
The know-how and experience of all the members we have is fantastic and their help is even better if trouble hits the fan and you need answers quick.

You look back not that many years ago and if you were lucky you would have someone teach you to make sausage. The only draw back was you learned one persons methods, including any mistakes. Nothing wrong with that but when you compare it to today with the help of forums like this you have the experience of many people at your finger tips. It's hard to beat that!
