Cedar smokehouse construction
took a short video clip of the first burn. Was checking out the airflow, tried to keep the fire small. Im going to have to put in a raised grate for better airflow

You mean inside the smokehouse itself? No I havent. I probably will put make some sort of heat and smoke baffle/diffuser above the pipe inside the smokehouse.ssorllih wrote:Looking better and better. Did you put a heat shield between the smoke pipe and the wood box?
Or are you talking about something else?

Ahhh...I knew that! haha. I added cinder blocks around the pipe and filled it with dirt. Do you think I should have done more?ssorllih wrote:I was referring to the wood storage rack you don't want to set the wood pile on fire.

Tested its temperature rang and it loves 155-175. Pretty easy to maintain 120 too. For cold smoking around 70 I will probably have to install a damper in the pipe. We'll see in the next few days.

Nick,
you have done an awesome job on the construction of this smokehouse. And I will follow your trials on getting your new smokehouse "commissioned" as in the other topic on cold smoking temps. Cold smoking is a new one for me.
I might just use your method to construct a similar one in my yard this year.
